Market Place. It's Monday, market day in the early 1930s. The man on the left in leggings, sitting on his handcart, is Jim Hubbard, who had a nursery in Whitby Road. The two men on the right (in flat caps) are Eric Taylor, who later became a builder, and Ernest Grimmer. The young man standing behind Longsters van. next to the lamp-post, is Leonard Maymen, who died aged only twenty-two years.
